​New Delhi: Minister for Municipal Administration and Industries K T Rama Rao, here on Friday, met the Union Minister for Commerce Nirmala Sitaraman, and urged her to speed up work on the proposed upcoming projects in Telangana State.

He said investors from Sri Lanka whom he met during his last visit expressed certain apprehensions over considerable delays in moving forward with their proposals and he had brought this to her notice. KTR appealed to the Minister to speed up the work on the DPRs (Detailed Project Reports) submitted earlier. He also held discussions with the officials of the Textiles Department and sought their cooperation in setting up the Textile Park in Telangana State and the clusters as planned.

The Minister said he had appealed to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to prepare a Mission 20-20 plan to bag at least 20 medals in the Tokya Olympics. Conveyed his congratulations to the medal winners, he said a great welcome was being planned for Sindu Pusarla on her return to Hyderabad.

PTI adds: The State government has plans to establish a Rs 270 crore international leather complex at Station Ghanpur village in Warangal district. Industries and Commerce Minister K T Rama Rao gave a copy of the proposal to Nirmala Sitharaman. The government has planned to build the complex on 117-acre land.

The proposal is prepared by IL&FS Cluster Development Initiative Limited, an official statement said. KTR urged the Centre to sanction Rs 105 crore grant under the Indian Leather Development Programme of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, it said.
