BJP State unit asked to prepare for 2019 polls
The core committee of the Bharatiya Janata Party, which met here under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi here on Tuesday, discussed the measures the party should to take to strengthen the party rank and file and ensure that they gear up for the 2019 general elections in Telangana State.
​New Delhi: The core committee of the Bharatiya Janata Party, which met here under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi here on Tuesday, discussed the measures the party should to take to strengthen the party rank and file and ensure that they gear up for the 2019 general elections in Telangana State.
Speaking to media late in the evening, the Telangana BJP president K Lakshman said the Central leadership had given them certain guidelines on strengthening the party from booth level to Lok Saba constituency level.
It had been told that the rank and file should establish greater contact with the people at all levels and ensure that the benefits of the welfare schemes launched by the Centre reach the real beneficiaries.
The State unit of the party had also been asked to launch a campaign on the schemes launched by the Central government to create greater awareness among the poor.
Replying to a question, Lakshman welcomed the three agreements signed between Telangana State government and Maharashtra government in regard to the projects on the river Godavari.
