Hyderabad: The ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) on Tuesday ridiculed the protests by Congress party against the historical agreement signed between the Governments of Telangana and Maharashtra on the irrigation projects.

TRS MLC Palla Rajeshwar Reddy said that instead of welcoming the historical pact on three barrages with the Maharashtra government, the Congress party leaders were indulging in dharnas which indicates their hollowness in politics.

He said that the Congress party leaders from Telangana, who did not oppose anti-Telangana policies of Andhra leaders, had no right to criticise the TRS government.

Rajeshwar Reddy questioned what prevented Congress party to construct the project at Tummidihatti during their tenure. Congress was ruling in united Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and also at the Centre.

He said that if the Congress did not desist from opposing projects, they would not get even the 15 per cent votes which they got during the last elections.
