Hyderabad: Demanding a CBI inquiry into the Singareni Clerical Grade Recruitment Exam, along with Eamcet-II paper leak probe, the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) warned the State government that it would launch an agitation if the government had failed to act immediately.

Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan along with Premsagar Rao, R Kantharao, Kathi Venkata swamy and others on Thursday, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, who assured the people that he would reopen the Nizam Sugars within 100 days during the Telangana movement, was maintaining silence on Sirpur Kagaz Nagar and Nizam Sugars issues.

The government was not even responding to the agitation of sugarcane farmers since last year. The Chief Minister was not bothered to fulfil his own assurances made during the Assembly elections, he alleged. It may be recalled that the first-ever job recruitment test conducted by the State government after bifurcation for junior assistants in the Singareni Collieries ran into trouble as Opposition parties alleged irregularities in the examinations. Over 83,000 candidates had initially appeared for exam on October 10 for around 470 jobs.

Bhatti alleged that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) affiliated unions were attacking the people who questioned them on the issue. He said one Srinivas, who was beaten up by the TRS affiliated union activists for questioning them, was undergoing treatment and his condition was causing anxiety. He also alleged that one Errolla Naresh committed suicide by setting himself ablaze.

He said the people were demanding the government for jobs to the dependent family members. The situation in Singareni turned dangerous to the workers, he said and demanded that the government should regularise the services of contract employees immediately and take back the dismissed employees.

Demanding that the State government open new coal mines and give jobs to youth, Bhatti alleged that the government had failed to console three bereaved families, whose breadwinners died on April 16, 2016. He also alleged that the TRS government filled its affiliated Singareni Union ‘Telangana Boggu Gani Karmikula Sangam’ (TGBKS) with persons indulged in various scams.

The TGBKS leaders were resorting to attacks on the workers, who questioned the management. Finding fault with the State government for not taking any action with regard to Singareni clerical grade entrance examination, Bhatti demanded that the government should order a CBI inquiry into the EAMCET-II paper leakage and Singareni clerical grade entrance examination paper leakage issues. Premsagar Rao demanded that the Chief Minister not to allow open cast mining and fulfil the assurance given during the elections to dig underground mining.
