Speed up land acquisition in Nalgonda
Telangana Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao on Friday instructed the officials to complete the land acquisition for all irrigation and lift projects taken up in Nalgonda district on war footing.
Hyderabad: Telangana Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao on Friday instructed the officials to complete the land acquisition for all irrigation and lift projects taken up in Nalgonda district on war footing.
In a review meeting here, he was informed that 2,233 acres of land is required under Dindi balancing reservoir, 1,911 acres for Pendli Pakala reservoir, 1,649 acres under Udaya Samudram and 9,385 acres at the ongoing Dindi lift irrigation project. He wanted the completion of land acquisition by the end of this year.
The Minister enquired about the modernisation of Musi canal on 42 km stretch to create 13,000 acres new ayacut in Suryapeta revenue division. Harish expressed unhappiness on the delay in the completion of works at Nagarjuna Sagar low level canal.
The works should have been completed in August. Special Chief Secretary to Irrigation SK Joshi and OSD Sridhar Rao Deshpande and other officials were present in the meeting.
