All-India unity runner arrives in Nizamabad

Differently-abled Antony Jaison of Mapranam village in Trisur district of Kerala, who undertook an all-India unity run from Kashmir to Kanya Kumari on August 15, was received by Nehru Yuva Kendra district in-charge Youth Coordinator M Ramachandra Rao, along with NYK volunteers, en route to the district on Monday. 

Nizamabad: Differently-abled Antony Jaison of Mapranam village in Trisur district of Kerala, who undertook an all-India unity run from Kashmir to Kanya Kumari on August 15, was received by Nehru Yuva Kendra district in-charge Youth Coordinator M Ramachandra Rao, along with NYK volunteers, en route to the district on Monday.

Jaison was hosted by NYK, Nizamabad, by arranging dinner and stay for the night and breakfast on Tuesday. He is accompanied by team members Joseph, Dibin, Shareef, Rindo and Kanna on two vehicles. On Tuesday the team was felicitated at NYK meeting hall. Red Cross Society district Chairman Dr N Neeli Ramchander, secretary Anjanna Bussa, State managing committee member Thota Rajashekar attended. A farewell was accorded to Jaison at the Government Polytechnic College Grounds in presence of several walkers.

Jaison is running a minimum of 70 km and maximum of 80 km a day with breaks. A former municipal councilor (independent) and a builder, he is undertaking the run in an attempt to create Asian and world records. The run, which culminates on November 1 this year, is part of an all-India marathon road show campaign for national unity and youth resurgence.
