Hyderabad: Former Minister Ponnala Laxmaiah on Thursday met Director General of Police Anurag Sharma and urged him to revoke prohibitory order under Section 144 CrPC in Jangaon town immediately.Speaking to mediapersons later, Ponnala said continuing Section 144 CrPC for the last 60 days in Jangaon town on pretext of maintenance of law and order was not correct.

Stating that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had assured the people of Jangaon that he would declare the town as 11th district of Telangana State, he pointed out that the people were demanding that the State government make Jangaon a district.

Asserting that the Chief Minister was not giving a chance to meet him directly to convey the agony of the people, Ponnala asked the officials concerned to identify the problems of the people. He said the people of Jangaon were facing a lot of problems due to the prohibitory orders for the last 60 days.
