Warangal: Kakatiya Institute of Technology & Science, Warangal (KITSW) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI), Hyderabad.The KITSW Director, Y Manohar and ASCI Director V Srinivasa Chary have exchanged the MoU at a programme held at Haritha Kakatiya Hotel in Hanamkonda on Thursday.

Representatives of Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) Cynthia Lewis, Sakshi Gudnan, Haley Hill, Samantha Galvin and Dennis Mwanza were present during signing of the MoU.The ASCI Director Srinivasa Chary said the MoU was aimed at converting GWMC as a ‘Model Sanitation City’ by improving city sanitation, public toilets, e-toilets, government schools in all aspects.

The municipal solid waste and fecal sludge have to be converted into bio-gas by using modern technology. This gas consists of 65 to 95 per cent of Methane. It would be used as a fuel for cooking and automobile industry. The by-products would be used as green fertilizer.

The KITSW Director Manohar said the students would gain technical knowledge by engaging in field work and projects. The college team would develop digital parking, latest sanitation techniques and sensors.

The College secretary and correspondent V Lakshmikantha Rao and treasurer P Narayana Reddy congratulated the technical team. The College Principal Prof P Venkateswara Rao, faculty V Ramaiah, K Sridhar, Venumadhav, P Srikanth, M Srikanth, M Sridhar and D Prabhakara Chary were present.
