The Home Guards have raised an amount of Rs 4, 72,200 to help the orphaned kids. The amount was split into two equal parts of Rs 2, 36,100 for each girl and two separate fixed deposit accounts were opened in a bank in the names of the girls, Akshitha (13) and Spurthi (11) to secure the future of the girls.

Warangal: The Home Guards of Warangal rural and city wings have displayed an inspiring camaraderie.They have donated their one day wage to support two girls, who were orphaned following the recent death of their mother Damera Saritha, served as Home Guard in the city armed reserve police wing. The father of the kids also died some time back.

The Home Guards have raised an amount of Rs 4, 72,200 to help the orphaned kids. The amount was split into two equal parts of Rs 2, 36,100 for each girl and two separate fixed deposit accounts were opened in a bank in the names of the girls, Akshitha (13) and Spurthi (11) to secure the future of the girls.

Warangal city Commissioner of Police G Sudheer Babu handed over the fixed deposit cheques to the girls at district police headquarters in Hanamkonda on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, he showered praises on the Home Guards for their kind gesture.

It is the duty of the department to take care of the children of police persons, who passes away in the line of duty,’ the police Commissioner said adding the department would take care of the needs of the girls and would ensure that they get educated properly. He directed Home Guards armed reserve inspector B Sadanandam to supervise the wellbeing of the girls regularly.
