Warangal Urban: Leaders and activists of different student unions of Kakatiya University have demanded that Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister K Srihari not interfere into the affairs of the universities.

The universities in the State were the autonomous bodies and have the right to decide their policies, they said.

The students belonging to NSUI, TGVP, PDSU, MSF and ABSF said Srihari’s suggestion to the VCs to consider conducting a common entrance test for UG and PG courses and doctoral degrees, was leading to unwanted trouble in the Universities.

The students staged a rasta roko at the SDLCE Centre in Hanamkonda on Thursday protesting alleged manhandling of students by the KUC police during a protest on Wednesday.
