Hyderabad: Asserting there is no shortage of salt stocks in the State, Civil Supplies and Finance Minister Eatala Rajender on Sunday appealed to the people not to hesitate to break open the shops if shopkeepers hoard the stocks.

The Minister urged the people to give information to the government if they came across the shopkeepers hoarding the stocks. Some vested interests were spreading misinformation and it added to the woes of the people in the wake of scrapping of high-value currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000.

He assured the people that the State government would take stringent action against hoarders of essential commodities and those spreading falsehood.
