Hyderabad: AITUC has warned the Centre that it will not keep quiet if the latter tried to amend the Acts at the cost of workers’ rights. AITUC senior leaders SV Shastri, AITUC Telangana state wing secretaries MD Yousuf and B Chandraiah have lashed out at the Narendra Modi government, which was contemplating to amend the law in favour of industrial and corporate forces.

Participating in the Hyderabad district AITUC construction meeting held at SN Reddy Bhavan here on Wednesday, the leaders alleged that good days have not yet come to the labourers under the Modi rule. The Modi government was trying to distance the labourers from their rights by amending the existing laws.

They said that Ex-Gratia Act, Payment of Wages Act, Union Registration Act, Industrial Disputes Act were the achievements of AITUC movements. They alleged that the rulers were neglecting the working class and there was a need to wage a movement against the governments and the governments were not in a position to have discussion with the working class, which creates assets. They said that there was a need to wage a fight on equal salary for equal work and expressed concern over the confinement of assets in the hands of few people.
