Hyderabad: The State government has begun the exercise of assessing the state of preparedness of various government schools and colleges in order to ensure that they achieve good results in the annual exams.

The Deputy Chief Minister for Education K Srihari on Monday held a preparatory meeting with heads of collegiate, intermediate and school education wings. It has been decided to hold review meetings with each wing separately beginning from Wednesday.

The deputy chief minister enquired from the officials about the availability of infrastructure and basic amenities in the schools and colleges. He particularly wanted to know the preparation for the coming annual examinations and steps to be taken to achieve good results. The officials were told come up with their action plan at the review meetings.

The Board of Intermediate and School Education would be holding the annual examinations in March and April. It may be mentioned here that the BIE has already issued the schedule of the examinations.

The Deputy Chief Minister told the heads of the BIE and schools education in the meeting that the government wants to raise the standards in the government-run educational institutions.
