Hyderabad: A two-judge bench of the High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad, comprising acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice A Shanker Narayan, directed the civic authorities of Adilabad to consider a fresh representation made on the loss of revenue for the conduct of the goat bazar in the municipal area.

The bench was disposing of a writ plea filed by Mamidi Ramesh complaining that the civic authorities, at the cost of huge sums, was permitting one Eralla Malliah to conduct the goat bazar in the district.

The petitioner complained that even in the nearby village the rate for the bazar was Rs. 2 lakhs, but the civic authority was getting only Rs.75,000 from the respondent.

The petitioner pointed out that the civic authority was bound to see that it got the maximum revenue and its failure to do so amounted to failure to carry out its duty under the law.
