Mahbubnagar (Kalwakurthy): Deputy Chief Minister Mohd Mahamood Ali has said that the State government is planning to build buildings for all the registration offices in the State very soon. He was speaking after inaugurating the new Rs 63-lakh building of the registration office at Kalwakurthy in Nagarkurnool district on Thursday.

The Deputy CM said that only three registration offices were functioning in their own buildings, while the remaining were operating from rented premises. It was ironic that even though the registration offices in the State had been contributing a lot towards revenue generation for the exchequer, majority of them were running in rented buildings with inadequate facilities for the employees.

In the coming five years, all the registration offices across the State would have own buildings equipped with all necessary facilities for employees and customers, the Deputy Chief Minister said. The Registration Department of Telangana was the second largest revenue-generating department in the country, he mentioned. He directed officials to set up helpline centers for customers, apart from providing all necessary information and facilities.

Enumerating the welfare schemes and programmes being implemented in the State, the Deputy CM said that the government was giving priority to Mission Kakatiya and Mission Bhagiratha programmes so as to complete them on time. “Our Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is working tirelessly to ensure all-round development of the State. The government is committed to providing drinking water to every household and irrigation water to every constituency in the State in the next two years,” said the Deputy Chief Minister. By the next academic year, a minority boys’ residential school would be established in Kalwakurthy, he said.

Referring to demonetization, the Deputy Chief Minister asked officials and bankers to ensure that common people were not affected. He directed the officials to create more awareness about cashless transactions among the common public and said that the government wanted to see Telangana emerge as the ‘first cashless State’ in the country.

Apart from the Deputy Chief Minister, Kasireddy Narayanreddy, MLC Mahbubnagar, Guvvala Balaraj, MLA Achampet, Vamshichand Reddy MLA Kalwakurthy, and Ahmad Nadeem, IG Registration, Sridhar, Collector Nagarkurnool, Surendrakaran, Joint Collector and other registration officials took part in the inaugural programme.
