Hyderabad: The Opposition parties are gearing up to put up a united fight against the government on various issues during the ensuing Winter Session of the State Assembly which is scheduled to begin from Friday.

Leaders of the Congress, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) are understood to have been holding talks to work out a strategy to highlight the promises which the State government had failed to implement even 30 months after coming to power.

The three parties are planning to raise some important issues like non-implementation of two bedroom housing scheme for the poor, regularisation of contract workers, filling up of one lakh posts in government departments and free education from KG to PG.

According to sources, the senior most leader from each party would raise one issue and will be the first speaker during the discussion. All parties will give him necessary inputs in the form of statistics and other such details and will support him during the discussion. All the parties would adopt similar line and would try to corner the government, added our sources.

According to TDP sources, the Opposition is likely to take up issues like failure to clear the dues of fee reimbursement and crisis in agriculture sector. The Congress and the BJP would raise other issues like 12 percent reservations for minorities, two bedroom housing scheme etc.

With the government contemplating to suspend the members if they go into the Well of the House, the opposition wants to move in a strategic manner and see that they force the government to come up with certain assurances on the issues it would be raising during the session.

The TDP, it is learnt, has been asked to prepare a detailed report on the 30 months of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government and pinpoint where the government had succeeded and where it had failed in a chronological manner.

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president N Uttam Kumar Reddy is preparing a report on irrigation projects and the status of the works, according to Congress sources. The Opposition parties are also busy gathering documentary evidences on each issue including alleged corruption in the Mission Bhagiratha and irrigation projects to be raised during the session.
