Hyderabad: Having succeeded in meeting only 50 per cent of its target, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has now decided to focus attention on collection of trade licence fee.

The Corporation has set a target of Rs 100 crore for the current financial year but so far it could not collect more than Rs 50 crore.

The corporation would now bring about 1 lakh commercial establishments including multiplexes, mobile shops and others into trade license net to reach the target.

The GHMC during the financial year 2015-16 has collected Rs 29 crore. During the current financial year 2016-17 the corporation has managed to collect Rs 40.65 crore only.

A senior GHMC official told The Hans India that the corporation has already embarked on a survey to identify the commercial establishments which were not under trade licence net.

He said that the corporation has been collecting trade license fee from only 1.31 lakh establishments based on the survey conducted in 1987.

He further said that the corporation so far has identified about 1 lakh establishments were not under trade license net and the corporation would soon send them notices to pay their trade license fee with 100 per cent penalty from financial year 2014-15.
