Several senior executives, employees and their family members attended the Republic Day celebrations held on the office premises.

Speaking on the occasion, Fadnavis said NTPC had been playing a major role in meeting the power needs of the country contributing to its economic and social development.

“With the commissioning of 800MW unit at Kudgi Super Thermal Power Station in Karnataka, the total installed capacity of NTPC has risen to 48,028 MW,” he added.

He further stated that NTPC had over 23,000 MW additional capacity under implementation at 23 locations across the country including 4,300 MW being undertaken by joint venture and subsidiary companies.

“We have also commenced coal mining at Pakri-Barwadih coal mining project which would help the company achieve backward integration.” NTPC Group was poised to become 50,000 MW plus capacity company in the current fiscal, he said.

Today, NTPC Group is India's largest power generator with an installed capacity of 48,028 MW from 19 coal based, seven gas based, nine solar PV, one Hydro and nine subsidiaries/Joint Venture power stations.
