Hyderabad: Launching a scathing attack on the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for his comment that formation of Telangana State was a dark day and insult to Telugu people, Telangana Finance Minister Eatala Rajender and Nizamabad MP K Kavitha came down heavily on Naidu.
While Eatala suggested Naidu to stop conspiring against the state, Kavitha alleged that Naidu was creating hurdles for Telangana.
Stating that Naidu’s comments amount to belittling the two Telugu States, Rajender said, “No person with any commonsense would make such comments.” Addressing a media conference, the Finance Minister advised Naidu against spewing venom on Telangana State which was accorded statehood with the support of all political parties in Parliament.
Though the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief tried his best to stall the statehood process and influenced a few political parties, the Centre accorded statehood by understanding the decades-long difficulties, injustice and pain of the people of the region.
Eatala said Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao fought for 14 years and sacrificed his political career and achieved statehood. Naidu has always been coming in the way of development of Telangana state.
He said it was unfortunate that even after two-and-a- half years of State formation, Naidu was still playing cheap politics and trying to create differences among Telugu people of the two States.
Rajender appealed to the people of Andhra Pradesh to be cautious of Naidu’s nefarious designs against
TS and warned him to stop coming in the way of its growth.
“This is time to compete with TS in terms of growth and not to hatch any conspiracy,” he said. The government was heading fast towards growth trajectory and got accolades at national and international levels for its welfare schemes and development programmes, the minister said.
Nizamabad MP K Kavitha also lashed at Naidu. At a press conference in Nizamabad, she alleged that Naidu was creating hurdles in the development of the Telangana State.
She said that the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister was against the formation of the Telangana State from the beginning.
She said while Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was striving to develop Telangana, Chandrababu was creating hurdles.
Calling Naidu’s comments as unfortunate, she said that it would be better for the Telangana TDP leaders to close down Telugu Desam Party office in Telangana as they have no future here.
