V Hanumantha Rao on Wednesday said he would meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and urge him to honour Mahatma Jyothiba Phule with the Bharat Ratna award. Rajender proposed that the Centre present Phule the prestigious award during Jyothiba Phule’s birth anniversary celebrations.

Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan on Wednesday, Hanumantha Rao found fault with Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for not paying tributes to Backward Classes leader Jyothiba Phule on his birth anniversary. He demanded that the State government build a Jyothiba Phule auditorium in Hyderabad.
