Stating that no other government had ever given so much money for the Telangana region during the last 70 years, BJP national president Amit Shah on Tuesday said that the Centre has given more than Rs 1 lakh crore to Telangana.

​Nalgonda: Stating that no other government had ever given so much money for the Telangana region during the last 70 years, BJP national president Amit Shah on Tuesday said that the Centre has given more than Rs 1 lakh crore to Telangana.
Addressing a press conference here, Amit Shah listed out the funds released by the Centre to the state government under various schemes. Telangana was getting Rs 9,764 crore under central taxes under the 13th Finance Commission but now under the 14th Finance Commission, Modi government was giving Rs 96,706 crore as share of central taxes, which is ten times more than the previous governments, he said.
The grant-in-aid under 13th Finance Commission was Rs 2,110 crore and Modi government increased it to Rs 9,000 crore, which is 4.5 per cent more. Funds under local bodies grant were increased by 33 per cent making it Rs 8,764 crore from Rs 240 crore. He further informed that Rs 1,055.39 crore were given to Telangana Women and Child Development department. He said that Rs 116.32 crore was spent on mid-day meal programme and Rs 975 crore for health and nutrition in the state.
The BJP chief informed that additionally Rs 40,800 crore was given for infrastructure projects like road between Hyderabad and Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Vijayawada National Highway, four-lane road between Yadadri and Warangal.
Amit Shah said that the Centre had given prestigious institutions like AIMS, Tribal University, Horticulture University, Sri Konda Laxman Telangana State Horticulture University, Prof Jayashankar Telangana State Agriculture University, P V Narasimha Rao Telangana University for Veterinary, Animal and Fishery Sciences and for quality education of the students of Telangana Rs 1,795.15 crore was released.
Amit Shat said that Modi government took up many public-oriented schemes. Nearly 28 crore Jan Dhan accounts were created, loan facility was given to 7.63 crore under Mudra Yojna, it has brought GST, removed the culture of 'Lal Batti', given constitutional status to BC Commission, 2.2 new gas connections to rural poor families under Ujwal Yojna, launched 104 satellites at one go, launched operation green money portal, brought BHIM mobile App and took a brave decision of note ban.
Replying to a question, the BJP president said that the party would see case by case if anyone is willing to join the party. He said that the BJP was for implementation of the promises made in AP Reorganisation Act. Amit Shah said that the BJP government was successful in providing transparent governance.
