Hyderabad: Light rain or thundershowers occurred at isolated places over Suryapet, Khammam, Bhadradri- Kothagudem and neighbourhoods. The highest rainfall of 19mm was recorded at Khammam on May 24 during the week.Heat wave conditions prevailed at a few places over Komarambheem-Asifabad, Mancherial, Peddapalli, Karimnagar, Warangal, Mahabubabad, Jayashankar-Bhupalpally, Bhadradri- Kothagudem and Nalgonda districts on three to four days during the week. In addition to maximum temperatures, the minimum temperatures also have shown increasing trend by 3°C to 4°C above normal reaching up to 32°C over many parts of the State during the week making warm night conditions.

The highest maximum temperatures of 46.9°C recorded at Mullur (Jayashankar-Bhupalpally) on May 21 during the week. Based on the weather model run at TSDPS of Planning Department and other available numerical guidance from national centres (IMD and other centres), it indicates that, with the prevailing north-south oriented trough passing along coastal Andhra Pradesh along with westerly to northwest winds over Telangana State, light rain or thundershowers are expected at isolated places over southern parts of the State during the next one week.
