Government snatching lands in name of development
In a round table conference organised by the All-party farmers’ wings here on Saturday, the leaders opined that the State government is trying to snatch land from farmers in the name of development. Rythu Sangham State vice president Nunna Nageswara Rao alleged that the government is unilaterally acquiring the land, the only source of livelihood and social security of the farmers.

Referring to the survey of land for the expansion of Suryapet-Khammam and Khammam-Kodad roads, he said the government is conspiring to snatch the land without the consent of farmers in the name of development. The meeting decided to conduct awareness programmes about farmers’ rights on May 28, 29 and 30.
Bathula Lenin, Bandi Ramesh, Duggi Krishna, Donepalli Venkanna, Macharla Bharathi, Avula Venkateswarlu, B Mallaiah, K Narsaiah and Gattu Ramadevi were among other farmer leaders who participated in the meeting.
