Hyderabad: A crucial meeting of national highways and State officials on Saturday at Aranya Bhavan discussed on the implementation of flagship programme of HarithaHaram and developing national highways into green corridors.

It was decided in the meeting to turn the national highways into environmental friendly by planting myriad varieties of saplings. The stage is set for the mega event in the State to begin in July first week.

As part of the target to plant about 40 crore saplings to expand forest cover in State, Forest officials are making arrangements for the mega event to be attended by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao in Karimanagar district.
The officials have urged national highways authorities to cooperate in massive plantation drive.
