MIM to vote for Meira Kumar
Contrary to the earlier belief that the AIMIM would abstain from Presidential elections, it is learnt that the Majlis party is contemplating to vote in favour of UPA candidate Meira Kumar.
Hyderabad: Contrary to the earlier belief that the AIMIM would abstain from Presidential elections, it is learnt that the Majlis party is contemplating to vote in favour of UPA candidate Meira Kumar.
The AIMIM has one MP and seven MLAs and one MLC from Telangana and two MLAs from Maharashtra in the collegium. Meanwhile, the state Assembly premises is geared up to conduct the Presidential elections to be held on July 17. Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwarlal on Saturday reviewed the arrangements made for the elections.
Telangana Legislature Secretary S Raja Sadaram said the Assembly premises would be under the control of the Election Commission of India on July 17.
