Hyderabad: The report by Additional Director General of Police, M Gopi Krishna has confirmed that Kukunoorpally sub-inspector P Prabhakar Reddy committed suicide because of the fear that he could be linked to the suicide of makeup artiste Sirisha.

It may be recalled Sirisha was found hanging at her workplace in the early hours of June 13 after she along with her employer Rajeev and friend Sravan returned from Kukunoorpally where they had a meeting with the sub-inspector P Prabhakar Reddy.

The trio had gone to Kukunoorpally to find a solution for the triangular love affair Rajeev had with Sirisha and another woman Tejaswini, but the visit ended on a tragic note.

A day after Sirisha’s death, Prabhakar Reddy shot himself to death fearing criminal proceedings against for allegedly misbehaving with Sirisha at his residential quarters, police had said.

ADGP, Gopi Krishna was appointed as Inquiry officer after Prabhakar Reddy’s family levelled allegations that it was a murder and accused Assistant Commissioner of Police, Giridhar of being responsible for the SI’s death.

Gopi Krishna questioned 27 persons in detail and submitted his report to the DGP on Saturday. In his report, he confirmed that there were differences between Prabhakar Reddy and the ACP, Giridhar. The report also said that the SI was subjected to harassment by the ACP in connection with the work, but the SI shot himself because of Sirisha’s suicide.
