The Chief Minister sanctions works worth Rupees 15 cr to develop Laxmapur

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Friday gave assurance that he would strive to develop the Laxmapur village in Medchal district in all respects by completing the works worth Rs 15 cr within six months.

The Chief Minister addressed a public meeting at Laxmapur village near Shameerpet. The village sarpanch and the local MLA submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister urging him to take up the development works with Rs 13 crore. The Chief Minister said that the amount would not be sufficient and asked the officials to sanction works with Rs 15 crore.

He said that necessary orders would be given by Saturday and the works would be completed within six months. The proposed works include CC Roads, drainage lines, link roads, crematorium, mini-function hall, market yard, LED lights, and BT road etc. The CM also sanctioned 100 double bedroom houses and asked the officials to sanction them to genuine persons. He asked the families to live united and go green by planting saplings and taking care of them.

Chandrashekar Rao also assured the villagers that the government would fill the Laxmapur lake with Godavari waters by June next year. He said that the villagers in Erravelli had told him that they get water in the bore-wells once Laxmapur lake is filled. He said that the villagers would not have any problems once Godavari water enter into the village.

He informed that the Kondapochamma Sagar reservoir would be having storage capacity of 15 tmc. ``The officials had wanted the storage capacity to be of 7 tmc. But I told them that people of Rangareddy and other districts should also get water through this and that is why I asked them to increase it to 15 tmc. Once Kaleshwaram project is connected, there is no need for the farmers to look towards skies,” said KCR.

Chief Minister said that Telangana State should be made into crop colonies. He asked the farmers not to go for one type of crop; the villagers should be united; take up development works and change Laxmapur into Laxmi Devi tanda.

The Chief Minister asked the 725 families in the village to plant 6 saplings each and take care of them. He also said that the families which protect these six saplings would be rewarded with two dairy cattle after examining them after six months. The government would give money and the families can procure the cattle, he added. He also assured the villagers of revenue mapping of the Laxmapur village.
