Mahbubnagar: Minister for Medical Health and Family Welfare C Laxma Reddy inaugurated the statues of Mahatma Gandhi, Vallabhai Patel and Netaji at three major road junctions in Jadcherla mandal. The old damaged and spoiled statues were replaced with the new ones and the Minister promised to install Baba Saheb Ambedkar’s statue at Signal Gagga junction soon.

“It is a great privilege to re-launch all these statues of great freedom fighters and leaders who have been a great inspiration to the people of this country. After formation of Telangana, during the past three years, our government made efforts towards realising the dreams of these great leaders and have achieved best results and brought remarkable developments in all aspects that touched the lives of people,” he said.

Be it roads, healthcare facilities, education, agriculture, irrigation or provision of drinking water and implementation of welfare schemes, the State government has achieved great success in just three years. The erstwhile government in united Andhra Pradesh could not achieve the same during their 67 years of rule, he said.

Reddy inaugurated the statues of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose in Badepally cross road and Sardar Vallabhai Patel statue at another junction. While talking on the occasion the Minister went on to innumerate numerous welfare and irrigation development projects in the district of Mahbubnagar. He said the State government is spending more than Rs 40,000 crore on the construction of the biggest lift irrigation project ‘Palamuru Ranga Reddy Lift Irrigation.’

Apart from this, the Minister also expressed confidence of completing the Mission Bhagiratha project aimed at providing tap water to each household very soon. “Very soon the hardships of getting drinking water will be over, as the Mission Bhagiratha project in Mahbubnagar is on the verge of completion. Majority works have already been completed and the remaining works will be finished in the next couple of months,” he said.
