Folk singer Somanna, who was arrested, alleged that his arrest was the result of a conspiracy hatched by the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) party. He said the ruling party leaders were angry with him because he was working jointly with TJAC Chairman M Kodanram and TPCC President N Uttam Kumar Reddy.

Tirumalagiri: Folk singer Somanna, who was arrested, alleged that his arrest was the result of a conspiracy hatched by the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) party. He said the ruling party leaders were angry with him because he was working jointly with TJAC Chairman M Kodanram and TPCC President N Uttam Kumar Reddy.

He said he had lodged a complaint with the police against MLA Veeresham’s wife Pushpa under SC and ST Act. Somanna said he had agreed to pay Rs 5,000 a month to his two wives for maintenance and provide Rs 1 lakh for the marriage of his elder daughter. Meanwhile Uttam Kumar Reddy, in a press statement, on Saturday, questioned the way Tirumalagiri police dealt with the case involving Somanna. He condemned the police highhandedness in handcuffing the singer.
