Harish Rao: Private hospitals are looting public over tests, operations

Irrigation Minister Harish Rao on Wednesday addressed the issue of private hospitals corruption in the state. Speaking at an event at Vemulawada, he said that the private hospitals were looting people in the name of unnecessary tests and operations.

Observing that the public are in constant panic due to the bills being given by these hospitals, the Minister said that the hospitals are causing fear among pregnant women by conducting scanning and forcing operations on them for money.

Adding that the health of women is at stake, Harish Rao said that the state government is providing welfare schemes for the new mothers who are opting to have deliveries at the government hospitals where they are being given money and gifted kits.
