Secunderabad: An interstate (Rajasthan) Bhagriya gang, indulging in house-breaking, was busted by the Task Force and recovered gold ornaments weighing 61 grams from their possession.

According to the police, the gang of four who came to Hyderabad from Rajasthan on September 9 for doing labour work took shelter at Secunderabad Railway Station. While searching for work, they came into contact with Mangya, also a native of Rajasthan, and began house burglaries in Secunderabad area.

As per their plan on September 12, the gang conducted recce under Chilkalguda police station limits and later they opened the backdoor of the targeted house located in Railway Quarters in Chilkalguda. They broke the almirah in the house and fled away with gold ornaments and other valuables. Later, they broke open the lock of the main door of another house at Sitaphalmandi and stole four gold bangles, two bracelets and other ornaments.

They were identified by the Task Force with the help of CCTV footage and they were traced with the help of their cell phone location at the time of offence and arrested the four accused. They were identified as Vinod, 24, Mukesh, 21, Mukesh, 23, all labourers and Mangal, 23, a mason and residents of Ajmer district, while the kingpin of the gang Mangya remains at large.

The police booked them under Sections 454 and 380 of IPC. “Their modus operandi involved recce of the targeted house and entering into the house breaking open the lock or latch of door by using screwdriver or iron implements. Meanwhile, some of them wait outside monitoring the surroundings to ensure that no one is watching,” said C Shashidhar Raju, Additional DCP, Task Force.
