Complete all Lift Irrigation schemes, Harish tells officials
Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao on Saturday instructed the officials to complete all Lift Irrigation schemes taken up by State Irrigation Development Corporation (TSIDC) in time and ensure irrigation facility to 1.50 lakh acres in the state.
Hyderabad: Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao on Saturday instructed the officials to complete all Lift Irrigation schemes taken up by State Irrigation Development Corporation (TSIDC) in time and ensure irrigation facility to 1.50 lakh acres in the state.
Reviewing the progress in the lift projects here, the minister said the Lift Irrigation schemes would be taken up on priority basis depending on the requirement and complete the works on war footing. He warned the officials action would be taken if there is any delay in the execution of the works.
After the formation of Telangana, only 125 schemes were taken up and the long pending 377 lift schemes abandoned. Government is planning to allocate Rs 460 crore to take up all the pending schemes. The minister said works would be taken up for 28 schemes by this month end. TSIDC Chairman E Shankar Reddy and minister OSD Sridhar Rao Deshpande were present.
