A triple pylon symbolic of the three metro rail corridors is coming up at the Miyapur metro rail station ahead of inauguration

Hyderabad: A triple pylon symbolic of the three metro rail corridors is coming up at the Miyapur metro rail station ahead of inauguration on November 28. The three arches are placed in such a way that they almost touch one another but actually criss-cross, symbolising the metro rail tracks.

The design is such that the arches look like tracks and taper towards the sky. The pipe dimensions keep changing from one end to another end, this cannot be done by a normal fabrication method and were laser cut, said Y S Reddy, Director, Caruca Engineers who bagged the order for the pylons.

A separate welding jig was made to get the perfect shape. Once completed, the pylon would glitter at night and glow during the day as a metallic finish painting would be given. A radiant blue is chosen keeping the metro rail colour in mind.

The three pylons were made at the IDA Bolarum and vary in different sizes- seven, five-and-a-half and four metres. They are made in composites and have a life of more than 30 years with occasional painting says Mr Reddy.

The pylon is strategically placed close to the entrance of Miyapur station and is in the middle of the park. A senior official said that it would add to the beauty of the station and is bound to be a major attraction. Workers were seen placing the arches here on Friday. Two have been placed and the third one is expected to be placed on Saturday.
