The BM Birla Science Prize has been instituted by BM Birla Science Centre, Hyderabad. The awardees- young Indian scientists not more than the age of 40- have been selected as per their outstanding contribution by for which the prizes are given for work done in India in four fields of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

The awardees- young Indian scientists not more than the age of 40- have been selected as per their outstanding contribution by for which the prizes are given for work done in India in four fields of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

Awards were disturbed by the Nobel Laureate Prof Martin Chalfie. Prof Chalfie has won a Nobel prize in Chemistry in the year 2008 for the development of green fluorescent protein. He is an American scientist and interacts with other science universities worldwide.

Dr Arun Kumar Shukla and Dr Maddika Subba Reddy have been awarded BM Birla science prize in Biology for the year 2016.It was awarded to Rahul Banerjee in chemistry for the year 2015.
