No compromise on safety, it is our first priority: SCR GM

Hyderabad : South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Vinod Kumar Yadav reiterated that there is no compromise on the safety of train operations and advised the officials to accord first priority to safety only.

He conducted a review meeting on safety, punctuality and loading on Tuesday at Rail Nilayam in Secunderabad along with Principal Heads of Departments. The Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of all six Divisions i.e. Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur and Nanded attended the meeting through video conference.

Vinod Kumar Yadav complimented the officials for achieving the target related to track maintenance works on the zone. He held a detailed discussion on the punctuality, instructed to minimize asset failures and make stringent action plans before taking track renovation/repairs works and construction of road under bridges etc., which may hamper the punctuality of trains. He also discussed on issues like brake binding cases and yard derailments and unusual happenings at level crossings etc. He instructed all the DRMs to take remedial actions to resolve the problems. He instructed all the DRMs to send the proposals related to station beautification.

The SCR GM also held a detailed review on the loading performance of the Zone including supply of wagons as per demand etc. and advised to improve the loading of food grains, fertilizers, sugar and cement etc.,
