Suryapet: Energy and Scheduled Caste Development Minister G. Jagadish Reddy on Wednesday said that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has introduced several innovative schemes for the welfare of SCs in the State.
Along with Rajya Sabha member Badugula Lingaiah Yadav, he laid foundation stone for the construction of Ambedkar Vikas Bhavan on 2400 square yards at an estimated cost of Rs 3.80 crore in Suryapet.
Addressing the gathering, he said that showing it’s sincerity towards Dalits, the TRS government constructed 69 SC community halls at an estimated cost of Rs 20 crore in Suryapet constituency.
The government increased subsidy loans to SCs to Rs 12 lakh from Rs 5 lakh besides free power up to 101 units. Stating that quality education have been provided to the SC students on par with corporate schools through Gurkuls schools, he informed that the SC hostel was constructed in Suryapet town in a short span of one year.
He informed that Suryapet was selected for the dairy farms to Dalits scheme under pilot project. As part of the scheme as many as 1570 Dalit families would get four buffaloes each. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 37 crore, he added. In this programme, Suryapet Municipal chairperson Ganduri Pravallika and SC leaders participated.
