Dundigal: Congress partymen, led by mandal unit president Bongunuri Srinivas Reddy, formed a human chain at Gandimaisamma Crossroads and staged a ‘rasta roko’ to protest against the rising prices of petrol and diesel in response to the call by the AICC president and the TPCC. Following the protest, there was a heavy traffic jam. The protestors raised anti-Central government slogans.

The activists, led by Reddy, while approaching shopping complexes near the crossroads, appealed to traders and people to cooperate to make the bandh success. They persuaded them to down shutters. Dundigal CI Shankarayya arrested 32 Congress leaders while they were staging a sit-in and shifted them to the police station. Senior Telugu Desam leader Barla Srinivas expressed support to the arrested leaders in the police station. Among the protestors were senior Congress leader Goud, Narender Reddy, Malla Reddy, Komurayya, Venkatesh, besides activists.
