NMDC bags renewable energy award

Hyderabad: National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) Limited, in its diamond jubilee year bagged the ‘India Green Energy Award - 2018’. The award was presented by Suresh Prabhu, Minister of Commerce & Industry and Civil Aviation to E R Sreekumar, ED (Engg.) who received it on behalf of NMDC.
The programme was organised by Indian Federation of Green Energy (IFGE). NMDC bagged the award in the ‘Outstanding Renewable Energy Generation Projects by Public Sector-Wind’ category for the installation and operation of the 10.5 MW capacity wind mills at Chitradurga District in Karnataka.
NMDC is also known for its eco-friendly mining operations for which all its Mining Complexes are awarded 5 star rating by the Ministry of Mines, Government of India. In the recent past NMDC received the prestigious S&P Platts Global Metal Award 2018 under CSR category, organized by Platts at London, UK.
