Siddipet: District Collector Krishna Bhaskar directed the MPDOs and APOs to set up a nursery in each panchayat. He reviewed a meeting on Haritha Haram with DRDA in charge PD Naveen, forest range officers, officials of horticulture, agriculture, excise, here on Tuesday. Speaking on the occasion, the collector told the officials to procure the seed of plants, which are needed and liked by the people and grow them in nurseries.
He asked the officials to initiate works for setting up nurseries in 449 panchayats. Officials explained the collector that 412 lakh saplings are planned to plant in the district. DRDA will plant 291 lakh and forest department will plant 121 lakh saplings. Officials explained the collector that the target of Haritha Haram is 173.14 lakh out of which 118.81 lakh saplings were already planted and only 54.33 lakh are remaining. Trainee collector avishyanth Panda, FROs Ramarao, Shyamsunder, horticulture DD Ramalakshmi, excise officer Vijaybhaskar, agriculture officer Shravan and MPDOs and APOs from all mandals were present.
