Hyderabad: Rajat Kumar, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) while briefing the media at the GHMC head office where the training programme for the Collectors was conducted said that as per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India (ECI) all the Collectors / DEOs of the State had been imparted training how to deal with the process of election work with technology. The ECI deputed teams from Delhi to impart training to the Collectors / DEOs.

The ECI has made available around 10 IT applications which will help the DEOs to perform their duties with clear transparency in an appropriate way. The ECI has also introduced an application C vigil which is used to upload and give information about the model code of conduct, malpractices etc., where the ECI official will react to the grievances in a time bound schedule responding to sort out the issues at once.

The CEO stated that these are some of the sophisticated and powerful tools are using this time in the election for election purity, election fairness etc., will depend upon these IT applications. He further stated that special awareness campaigns have also been conducted from the last three days in the entire State where every booth level officer has performed the assigned duties at the polling stations concerned.

Rajat Kumar stated that special care is being taken for duplicate entries, inclusion, deletion etc., in a time bound manner as it is a statutory activity guided by the rules conditions which has to be implemented while performing the duties during election period. He also explained about EROnet, Unified National Photo Electoral Roll (UNPER) and National Voter Service Portal (NVSP), about their importance during the process of Election work.
