Hyderabad: Former BJLP leader G Kishan Reddy has come down heavily on senior Congress leader and former Union Minister S Jaipal Reddy for calling Prime Minister Narendra Modi a medieval emperor and levelling baseless allegations. Addressing the media here on Saturday, he said Jaipal Reddy had joined Janata Party and criticised former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Later, he served as Cabinet Minister in the Congress government, he said. Kishan Reddy demanded that Jaipal Reddy explain the National Herald case and the role of AICC former President Sonia Gandhi and AICC President Rahul Gandhi.
He stated that the Congress has been making baseless allegations against the BJP government at the Centre in the Rafale dead. But, people knew the commitment and integrity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he added. Dismissing the claims of Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad that the Congress party had granted statehood to Telangana, Kishan Reddy said the people’s struggle had forced the then government at the Centre to bifurcate the Sate. He recalled that the BJP had extended its support to bifurcate the State. He wondered how the Congress could grant statehood to Telangana without the support of the BJP. The BJP leader also took a dig at caretaker Information Technology Minister K T Rama Rao. He said KTR should ensure that it does not lose its wickets, instead of boasting that it would bag 100 seats in the ensuing elections.
The BJP former MLA described the alliance of Congress, CPI and TDP as an unholy alliance, and asked the Congress leaders to introspect how the former Congress Chief Ministers Y S Rajasekhar Reddy, Kiran Kumar Reddy and K Rosaiah criticised the TDP chief and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. Similarly, Naidu had levelled several charges against the Congress and its leaders. However, they have acted like a chameleon, changing their colours with the sole purpose of grabbing power, he said.
Kishan Reddy said the party had completed formation of 85 per cent of the booth committees. Door-to-door campaign would be given a top priority to explain the misdeeds of the Congress, TRS and the schemes launched by the Centre for the welfare of the people and the development of the country. He said the party has no dearth of candidates and selection of party candidates would start from the first week of October. Following the party's tradition, issue of tickets would begin only after the Election Commission announced the poll schedule, he said.
