Narayankhed: All the medical shops in the mandal were closed on Friday in protest against online sale of drugs through e-pharmacies. Later, druggists held a rally up to RDO office and submitted a memorandum to RDO Rajeshwar. Speaking on the occasion, Rafeeq, Medical and druggist association secretary, said that around 8,50,000 people may lose their livelihood as a result of central government’s decision to allow online sale of medicines.

Moreover, students may get addicted to habit forming drugs as they will be easily available online. He demanded the center immediately withdraw its decision. CITU leader Chiranjeevi expressed his solidarity in support of druggists. Association members Venkanna, Yesu Reddy, Janardhan Reddy and others were present on the occasion.
