Opposition Common Minimum Programme to focus on farm loan waiver
The common minimum programme CMP of Peoples Alliance, the proposed new amalgamation of opposition parties, would focus on waiver of Rs 2 lakh agriculture loans for each farmer when it comes to power
Hyderabad: The common minimum programme (CMP) of People’s Alliance, the proposed new amalgamation of opposition parties, would focus on waiver of Rs 2 lakh agriculture loans for each farmer when it comes to power.
This apart, the alliance government would take up measures for prevention of misuse of public funds, review of all irrigation projects, prioritisation of irrigation projects, filling of one lakh vacancies in the first year and long-term programme for welfare of farmers.
According to campaign committee chairman of Telangana Congress Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, the manifesto of the proposed alliance with TDP and other parties would reflect the aspiration of the people. "It would be a people's agenda," he said.
Speaking to the media-persons after a meeting on the common minimum programme of the alliance, Vikramarka said that the combined manifesto of the alliance would be released soon. He said that the combined manifesto would be prepared taking opinions of the alliance partners into consideration.
Vikramarka said that they have been considering a few names for the alliance and would select one. Former MLC and TJS leader K Dilip Kumar said that the Chief Minister has diluted the struggle of Telangana for water, jobs and funds.
He said that along with loan waiver up to Rs 2 lakh, resolving the issues of the women and youth would be part of their programme. He made it clear that they would review the projects and would take action on the misuse of public money.
Telugu Desam party leader R Chandrasekhara Reddy said that the Chief Minister has grossly neglected the aspirations of the martyrs. He alleged that the government utterly failed in the education sector.
The alliance government, when it comes to power, would keep all its promises. He wanted to know whether the TRS had not considered TDP as a traitor of Telangana when it had an alliance with it in 2009 elections. He said that the Chief Minister was afraid of TDP though he stated that the Yellow Party has vanished from Telangana.
CPI leader K Sambasiva Rao said that the draft of the common minimum programme was ready. He said that the Chief Minister has forgotten sacrifices of the people for Telangana. He said that they would control abuse of power in construction of projects. Their government, if elected, would announce a calendar for the recruitments.
