Hyderabad: The impact of ‘Titli’ cyclone has affected uninterrupted power supply to all sectors in Telangana State. As the power supply corridors between North - South India mainly Talcher-Kolar, Angoor - Srikakulam power lines were damaged, it is expected that State will face the shortage of 3000 megawatts power for a brief time.

Caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao held a review meeting with Special Chief Secretary of Energy Ajay Mishra and other officials on the supply of power to the State. The officials informed KCR that since the power lines are damaged, it will not be possible to purchase power in the open market and meet the power demand and supply uninterrupted power to all sectors.

There was no other possibility to procure power from other sources and there is 3000 megawatts power shortage in Telangana, officials said that the present problems will remain for a short period of two to three days’ time and situation will be under control thereafter.
