Madhapur: The Consulate General of Japan in Chennai, Kojiro Uchiyama presented the Japan Foreign Minister’s commendations for the year 2018 to Boddupalli Ramabhadra, the founder president and chairman of Asa Bhanu Japan Center, at a ceremony held at Hotel Trident, Madhapur, on Sunday.

Asa Bhanu Japan Center is a company based out of Hyderabad and is into electrical engineering design, EPC and transportation engineering with offices in India and Japan. Several business representatives and guests from Japan, Indian business leaders from other parts of the country and government officials from city were present at the event. Takaoka Masaki, Deputy Mayor, Miyoshi City, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan was also present. A three-day Japanese Art Exhibition organised by Asa Bhanu group concluded here on Sunday at State Art Gallery, Madhapur.

Ramabhadra is awarded this commendation for his outstanding contribution towards the promotion of mutual understanding between Japan and India in the fields of cultural and economic relations. Speaking to media Ramabhadra said, “Asa Bhanu Japan center was founded in 1999 and worked for the mutual cooperation between Japan and India in the fields of cultural and economic ties. “My family has lived in Japan for two decades and strived for introducing Indian culture in Japan prior to their returning to Hyderabad in 1995,” he said.

“I have introduced Japanese culture through various activities and programmes on Ikebana, Bonsai, origami, Japanese dolls, martial arts, kite festival etc. for the past two decades. I have also carried out a major role for the Hyderabad- Miyoshi City, (Hiroshima Prefecture) sister city affiliation and thereafter have been involved in several cultural and knowledge exchange programmes between the two cities.

Japan- Four Decades of Affinity is our natural attraction, liking and feeling of kinship, In this three-day Japanese exhibition various collection of Asa Bhanu Japan Center was showcased including dolls & kites which are popular among Hinam, Gogatsu, Noh and other Japanese kites are among the most spectacular in the world. Ikebana Flower Arrangements: ‘Ikebana’ literally means flowers kept alive, enlivens your hearts. Ikebana is based on three main lines that symbolize heaven, earth and humankind. The wonderful flower arrangements was presented by Hyderabad Chapter of Ohara Scholl of Ikebana.

Bonsai: The art of dwarfing trees or plants by triming and growing them in containers according to prescribes techniques is called Bonsai. Origami: The Art of folding paper (not cut) to form shaped figures and ornamented objects ranging simple object of childs play in a very complex art farm. Martial Arts: are commonly referred as “Budo” menaing the Martial way. Projects: Till date four student delegations have visited Miyoshi City from Hyderabad. Web exchange programmes are taking place at regular intervals between local schools and Miyoshi school, many Japanese students have participated in the student exchange programme.

Hirata Katsuaki Chairman of Hirata Farm limited, visiting professor of Ratnapuri Institution of Agricultural Department, Hyderabad along with the students put up photographs and the projects which are being taken up by Hyderabad-Miyoshi sister city affiliation. The Japan Foreign Minister’s commendations are awarded to individuals and groups with outstanding achievements in international fields in order to acknowledge their contributions in the promotion of friendship between Japan and other countries.
