Khammam: The representatives of Phule and Ambedkar Varasula Sangham celebrated the 87th birth anniversary of former President APJ Abdul Kalam on a grand note in Khammam on Monday.
At the programme organised under the leadership of Nandigama Raj Kumar, the leaders paid rich tributes by garlanding the portrait of Abdul Kalam.
Speaking on the occasion, association’s convenor Daggubati Madhava Rao said that Kalam would be remembered as a person who always strove to convert the energy of youth into the nation’s asset.
As a president of India, as the missile man and as a scientist, Abdul Kalam rendered his services to the nation and lead India towards development in the field of science and technology, he added.
The youth of the present generation must take him as an inspiration and strive hard to fulfill his dreams and aspirations, he suggested. The association members N Suresh, Bhadru Naik, K Gopi, P Venkata Ramana, Rama Rao, P Krishna, Saleem, Lakshman, Srinu, Ravi and Naga Raju and others were present.
