Kothagudem: District Collector Rajat Kumar Saini along with officials released the wall posters regarding 'cVigil' app, which could be used for lodging a complaint against violation of model code of conduct. The Collector also inaugurated a complaint cell at the district Collectorate in Kothagudem on Monday.

He asked the people to use the app launched by the Election Commission of India enabling citizens to report on violation of election code of conduct.

The district administration has been making all efforts to publicise cVigil app which helps the common man to check the poll code violations. “The app is a user-friendly and easy to operate android application and could be downloaded from Google Play Store” he said.

Since 3G mobile network is available at all mandal headquarters in the district using the app would not be a difficulty. The app requires an android based smart phone equipped with a camera, internet connection and GPS access, he explained.

To report any violation of election model code of conduct, a concerned citizen has to click a picture or record a video of two minutes. Then the photo or video has to be uploaded on the app.

Upon receiving the complaint the flying squads, static surveillance teams would respond within 15 minutes and reach the location and take action in another 50 minutes after confirming the violation of election code, Rajat Kumar said.

Joint Collector K Venkateshwarlu, Assistant Collector IlaTripathi, DFO Rambabu, DRDO Jagatkumar Reddy and others were present.
