Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Metro Rail project has been adjudged as the ‘Best Urban Mass Transit Project’ by the Government of India.An award of excellence was presented to NVS Reddy, Managing Director at HMRL and KVB Reddy, Managing Director at L&T, jointly during the ‘Urban Mobility India’ conference held in Nagpur on Sunday.
The Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs gave away the award in recognition of HMRL’s successful Public Private Partnership (PPP) initiative. Robust structural design, land pooling and other modes of revenue generation are other noteworthy features of the project.With the award, the Hyderabad Metro Rail project has received a total of 68 awards.
