Mahbubnagar: Chittem Ram Mohan Reddy, TRS candidate from Makthal constituency in Mahabubnagar district, has already completed the first round of election campaigning and is overwhelmed with the response of the people in each and every village.

The former TRS MLA is confident of win because of various welfare and development schemes launched by the TRS government for all sections of society, for his victory. While interacting with The Hans India, Rammohan Reddy says he will win the elections. He says he is campaigning to increase the margin of victory.

After dissolving the Assembly for early elections, TRS party has taken a lead in both announcing the candidates and launching early campaign. How is your campaign is going on in Makhtal and what kind of response you are getting from the people?

The speed and the way with which our party has launched and implemented the welfare and development programmes in a short period has perhaps never happened in the entire history of India. KCR is really a visionary and has done lot of brainstorming before coming up with such mammoth and historic welfare and development programmes by completely keeping in view the downtrodden and the needy people in the state.

Programmes like Mission Bhagiratha, Mission Kakatiya, Irrigation projects, welfare schemes like Asara pensions, KCR kits, launching of residential Gurukula schools, completing of pending projects, programmes like Kalyanalakshmi, Shaadi Mubharak etc and in addition to this construction of cement roads, drains in villages and providing 24-hour free power to farmers, Rytu Bhandu, Rytu Bheeema schemes, conducting mammoth land purification drive etc.

Carrying out such historic initiatives in a short span of just four-and-half- year is remarkable. Therefore, we are confident that the people of Telangana State are very much with the TRS party, The programmes were implement with the speed. We are also carrying forward the same momentum in our election campaign.

We have already completed first round of campaigning and now strategically moving to interact with each and every voter and carrying out door-to-door campaigning. The response from the people is overwhelming.

What were the issues in Makthal four years ago before you became MLA and how did you resolve them?
Majority people in Makthal are depending on agriculture for their livelyhood. Four years ago, the major issue which the people of Makthal were facing were lack of power, lack of irrigation and drinking water, pathetic conditions of roads and drains. Every sector, healthcare, education, irrigation, agriculture, farmer’s welfare, development, people’s welfare etc were in doldrums due to the misrule of erstwhile Andhra leaders.

After formation of Telangana and TRS government assuming power we have given priority for agriculture sector and provided 24-hour free power to the farmers. For that we have constructed as many as sixteen 132-KV substations. We have completed the long pending Manoor lift Irrigation project by spending Rs 9 crore. Under this project we are able to give irrigation water to one lakh acres which include both old and new ayacut.

We are also planning to construct irrigation canals from Sangam Banda and Bhootpur reservoirs to irrigate lands in Makthal. Therefore, there are a lot of works still needs to be done and am sure with people’s support we will soon complete all the works we have taken up.

What is that you are yet to develop in Makthal and what is your promise to the people of Makthal for the forthcoming elections?
The programmes that we are yet to take up in Makthal is to take irrigation water to Utkoor mandal. We want to create a permanent irrigation source for the farmers of Utkoor in the coming days if voted to power.

This apart, Makthal is lagging far behind in establishing any notable industries. In spite of having two national highways NH-167 and NH-150 there are no industries. We want to bring industries to Makthal and create employment opportunities to about 10,000 people in our constituency.

As part of this we are planning to establish two to three ITC parks and agricultural processing industries. For this already 300 acres of land has been earmarked and another 200 acres was also acquired recently. If voted back to power, I am sure we will establish industrial parks in Makthal and export our produce not just to Telangana but also has the transport network of road and rail link to supply even to Mumbai from Makthal.

How will you view the overall scenario of TRS party in Mahbubnagar, it seems the Congress party by forming Grand Alliance (Mahakutami) is going to give a tough fight for TRS?
Congress has already lost its self-confidence and it has no guts to take on the TRS party alone and has formed an alliance with TDP party which is an Andhra party to which the people of Telangana have already rejected it in the State.

The TJS led by Kodandaram, which was once supported formation of Telangana and fought shoulder to shoulder with TRS party for the creation of new state, has today for no reason is forging an alliance with those parties who had deprived welfare and development of Telangana people. In fact, the Congress and the TDP are responsible for the delay in formation of Telangana which led to suicides of more than 1,000 students.

So, the people have realised that with an object just to dethrone KCR they have formed unethical Kutami, leaving aside their differences and ideologies. This clearly shows these parties are adopting devious tactics to fool the people. Kutami will not hold for long and their efforts to defeat the TRS will only remain as their unfulfilled dream.

It seems the youth and unemployed are unhappy with KCR government, do you think TRS government had failed to stand up to the expectations of unemployed youth in the State?
It is not true that youth are not happy. After formation of new State, never ever in the history of Telangana had so many notifications and recruitments had happened in just a span of four years. As many as 30,000 jobs have been notified and about 14,000 have already been filled.

In the coming days all those vacancies will also be filled. I agree there are challenges, because once new State is formed the size of State has got reduced and definitely the job requirements in the state will also be reduced.

However, despite of this KCR has promised to provide one lakh jobs and definitely in the coming days our party will fulfil the promise. Already we have filled vacancies in Agriculture Departments, Forest Department, police department, Irrigation Department, Electricity Department and others. What I urge the youth is not to fall prey to the deception being sought to be perpetrated by the Kutami leaders.

The Kutami leaders had not played a constructive role as opposition and created hurdles in the way of development and construction of projects. People have already realised their nefarious designs and the people will teach them a lesson.

Finally, how many seats the TRS party is expected to win in the erstwhile Mahbubnagar? How do you view the prospects of Gadwal. I am confident that out of 14 seats, the TRS party will win all of them. As far as Makthal is concerned, I am planning to win with highest majority in the forthcoming elections
