Taps run dry, but people get bills

Kondapur: As many as 200 water connections have been given under Mission Bhagiratha, but, though the taps were running dry, the residents have been receiving water bills at A&B Colony in Kondapur. Pipelines were laid a year ago, but the water was not supplied by the authorities and till now residents have been purchasing water from the private bodies and sometimes managing without water.
Several representations have been made to the Sewerage Board and on its HMWSSB App, but no action has been taken till now and it is being hard to survive without water, say residents. Women of the entire area along with others visited the HMWSSB office here on Monday at Hafeezpet and submitted representations and complaint letters to the general manager. The general manager gave assurance that water would be supplied in a week’s time.
